Pioneer Peak: Spaghetti Monsters in Pioneer
Gameplan
The Spaghetti Overlords dominated Modern at a point with Eldrazi Winter but how would they do in 2022 Pioneer? Well, Buffix piloted this to a clean 5-0 so lets lightly go over it.
The core eldrazi package is intact in Pioneer. We're playing cards like Warping Wail and Hedron Crawler as a way for us to speed out all of our colorless spells. We've also got Forsaken Monument to help churn out our big bombs if given time. I also love any deck that can make Karn, the Great Creator work in the 75 so naturally, this list would draw interest from me. The deck can be light on removal so we're hoping cards like Spatial Contortion can serve as our removal spell. Otherwise, we're hoping Karn to dig for a Ratchet Bomb or Ugin, the Spirit Dragon to save us!
Conclusion
The deck does have some weak points in that the sideboard is almost all Karn targets and not enough ways to sweep the board. If a board runs too wide for us, we might just be a tad bit too slow to interact with them. Something I could see running would be a way to produce white mana so I can add Cataclysmic Gearhulk to at least lightly slim the board down. Otherwise, this deck is the perfect deck for colorless eldrazi fans. Pioneer is a ton of fun and exploring pioneer is something I'm excited to do again so I'll see you at the next video when I find a fun list or brew something sweet.
