Gameplan

Historic gives us access to some sweet planeswalkers to play with when it comes to a superfriends deck.

Chandra, Torch of Defiance still is a powerhouse at 4 mana and is a way to close out games while also being able to ramp us which will serve as an extremely important part of our gameplan when we need to put out bigger planeswalkers like Angrath, the Flame-Chained and Tibalt, Cosmic Impostor. Angrath isn't really needed but I love me some metal cow-dad so I had to throw him in here. He serves as a way to deal with pesky indestructible cards like Adanto Vanguard at the worst! However, Tibalt is still one of the best ways to close a game out!  Since we're also in best of one, I threw in the Karn, the Great Creator package.

There are already tons of artifacts that Karn can grab but Kaldheim added a card that I just want to try to grab as a way to heal and maybe even draw cards. We're trying Cosmos Elixir. The card is a bit cute and probably too slow for some aggro match ups but I'm going to try it for fun! The Elixir is probably better in a deck like Mono-Brown as they have tons of ways to gain life. Outside of our planeswalkers, we've got a plethora of removal and sweepers.

As Uro is gone, I expect there to be a decent amount of Goblins and Jund Sac. Unfortunately, Goblins will roll us if we don't have a cage. However, Jund Sacrifice didn't lose much from the B&R announcement and Verdict absolutely wrecks them so I'm looking to prepare for that on the ladder more! Goblins don't lose to sweepers alone so we'll probably have a rough time against them unless we delay the game long enough to try to get cute with Platinum Angel.

Conclusion

I didn't expect to win so many games consecutively. The deck is a rough shell but could be better with a little bit more tuning. If all of our planeswalkers are red, maybe we can add more cards like Anger of the Gods or Cry of the Carnarium and throw in Chandra, Acolyte of Flame. This will allow Chandra's 0 ability to add counters to all of our walkers while giving us a way to flash back sweepers to keep fighting the creature matchups! Either way, the deck seems sweet and could easily be ported over to something like Bo3! Either way, I'm excited to explore Historic as Uro's ban will free up some space in the meta for other midrange decks!
