Lithoform Engine | Exclusive Zendikar Rising Preview!

Hey friends, I am super excited to share with you all an exclusive Zendikar Rising card preview given to us for free by Wizards of the Coast to share with you all: Lithoform Engine! Seth and I recorded a video with our initial thoughts on the card, how it compares to other similar cards, and where we're most excited to try it out:

This card is clearly made for Commander. In fact, it's really a few Commander staples stapled together! Here's a quick breakdown of its abilities:

• Copying activated abilities is similar to Rings of Brighthearth, which sees play in decks like Superfriends, Teferi, Temporal Archmage, and Feldon of the Third Path
• Copying triggered abilities is similar to Strionic Resonator, which sees play in decks like Brago, King Eternal, Gonti, Lord of Luxury, and Etali, Primal Storm
• Copying instants or sorceries is similar to Mirari, which sees play in Spellslinger decks like Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge, Wort, the Raidmother, and Melek, Izzet Paragon
• Copying permanent spells is fairly unique and I couldn't find a perfect comparison (let me know in the comments section if you know any!) but it's incredibly potent in Token decks like Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer, Ghired, Conclave Exile, and Rhys the Redeemed

While Lithoform Engine is very close to but not quite as good as the aforementioned comparisons, the real beauty of this card is its flexibility: pretty much any deck can get use out of all of its abilities without even trying! And that's what makes this card so good. Many decks will want to run it primarily for just one of its abilities, but it will randomly generate extra value for the deck with its other abilities as well!
