Esper Amnesia (Standard, Magic Arena)

Alright, surprise I got a different list this week for some Esper fun before we hit #MTGM20.

Gameplan

We're still doing the control the board gameplan but the difference is we've got some absolutely beautiful starts with Narset, Parter of Veils and Induced Amnesia

$ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00

As you can guess we'll be trying to punish those who choose to ignore Narset or just flat out don't have a way to deal with her. Often people will just commit enough pressure to put Narset to 1 loyalty. If an opponent does this, we can punish them with an Induced Amnesia. We also pack a few other fun ofs like Emergency Powers.

$ 0.00 $ 0.00

Speaking of Emergency Powers, we have some cards to help us out with denying our opponents from shuffling a ton of cards back in.

$ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00

Not only do these two eat our opponent's yard up but they do a nice tag team job to kill your opponents as Kaya's ultimate will usually hit for lethal.

$ 0.00 $ 0.00

A fun thing to note is if you fear your Induced Amnesia gets removed, you have the people's champ in Teferi. Amnesia needs to hit the graveyard in order to return the cards but if you bounce the Amnesia back, they'll never get those cards back which will leave them in exile for the rest of the game!

Conclusion

The deck is a blast to play when you can get it working and it's a huge meme so to have a strong finish as we did was impressive as this deck definitely has a fun gimmick that works in Bo1. If you're out of wildcards or looking for a top tier deck, I wouldn't recommend building this but I do however think it's a blast to play if you've got the wildcards to spare and don't care where this falls in the tiers. You may be asking, "How often do you just mill your opponent's out?" The answer is that this will rarely happen because most people will just concede before it gets to that point. Also, Narset + Amnesia can sometimes just draw an immediate concession.

Hope you have fun trying this out and as always, feel free to reach out to me at any of my socials if you've got sweet ideas or improvements! See you at the next one.
