Amazing Commander Decks Using ONLY Foundations!
The latest set, Foundations, is aimed at on-boarding new players into the larger Magic hobby, and WOTC has done an excellent job of it! However, what about new players who purchased a lot of Foundations cards and now want to try out Commander? Well I've built five decks using ONLY cards found in the Foundations -- the main set, jumpstart, and starter kit -- which are able to compete just fine with precons and mid-power tables, so new players can immediately try out the format with most of the cards they already own. Check it out!
Deck Lists
These lists should be at roughly the same level as the latest precons, so you should have no problem bringing them to mid-power tables. Keep in mind that despite the Goldfish deckbuilder showing different versions of the cards, each card in these decks does have a version found in Foundations!
Bonus Deck: Starter Kit ONLY!
For those looking to whip up a quick commander deck just from the starter kit, this Tatyova, Benthic Druid list will do the job. The deck isn't great -- it's weaker than the latest precons -- but Tatyova can still carry the deck and we can steal games with classic haymakers like Rite of Replication or Rampaging Baloths.
